‘Cloudy’ je zaključek trilogije samostojnih razstav, ki zaokrožuje 5. obletnico avtorjevega ustvarjanja. Shema dramskega trikotnika nas vodi čez 5 dogajalnih stopenj, vse od Zasnove (‘Prolog’), Zapleta (‘Mommy+-Daddy=’), Vrha (‘Deus Ex Machina’), Razpleta (‘Couples Therapy’) do Razsnove (‘Epilog’). Zatišje pred nevihto predrami veliki pok- ločitev. Mučenika se v stilu videoigre z različnimi zahtevnostnimi stopnjami, podata na pot preizkušenj po principu bibličnega izgona iz raja, v upanju ponovne obuditve harmonije. Platon v Simpoziju omenja, da naj bi bili ljudje prvotno ustvarjeni kot bitja z dvema glavama, štirimi rokami in štirimi nogami. Ker se je vrhovni bog Zevs bal naše moči, je ljudi razpolovil na dva dela- od takrat smo obsojeni, da vse življenje iščemo svojo izgubljeno (boljšo?) polovico. Zatorej vabljeni, na potovanje brez obljubljenega happy end-a! Avtor nas skozi arhive sprva spozna z globinami disharmonije, ki na prvi pogled ne ponujajo potencialne razrešitve dogajanja- zato kmalu nastopi nujno posredovanje višje sile, stopnjevanje napetosti pa doživi vrhunec v finalnem boju, ki se zaključi s soočenjem na štiri oči. Enakoglasnica avtorjevega imena si tako skozi žanre dokumentarne, modne ter avtorske fotografije prizadeva razvedriti oblačnost.

‘Cloudy’ is the final chapter of the solo exhibition trilogy which concludes 5 years of author’s artistic expression. Dramatic structure of presented artworks is based on Freytag’s Pyramid theory in which the plot of a story consists of five acts: introduction (‘Prolog’), rising action (‘Mommy+-Daddy=’), climax (‘Deus Ex Machina’), falling action (‘Couples Therapy’) and resolution (‘Epilog’). In the Symposium, Plato describes that according to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other (better?) halves. In the biblical sense of Adam and Eve’s eviction from the Garden of Eden, the viewer follows the troubled path of a young couple, in parallel with author’s divorced parents. Through trials & tribulations which can be compared to the levels in a videogame, they are trying to bring their harmony back. Different stages have progressively increasing difficulty which presents new content and challenges to keep player’s interest high. Sticks and stones may break their bones but the standard ”happily ever after” fairy tale ending is not to be taken for granted. Therefore through different genres of photography (Documentary & Fashion & Fine Art), author tries to weather the storm.

Claudi Sovre Mikelj, born in 1994, is a graduand of the Department of Photography at the Higher School of Applied Sciences (VIST). He has already participated in the group exhibitions at the Slovenian Etnographic Museum (2013), Kino Šiška- Center for Urban Culture (2016), gallery Dessa (2016), the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Berlin (2017), Photon (2017), Layer House gallery- Mahlerca studio (2017) and Museum Šenčur (2017). As a solo artist he debuted with intermedial introduction show ‘BadReligion’ (2014) and since then presented a trilogy of photo exhibitions- ‘Once Upon a Future’ (2015), ‘Renaissance’ (2016), ‘Cloudy’ (2018). In addition to numerous presentational photographs for music, theatre, film and sport, he is the author of January 2017 cover for National Geographic Slovenia: Gender Revolution and January 2018 cover of GEJM, a special edition of Wrong- ‘magazine, where everything is right’.

Claudi Sovre Mikelj, roj. 1994, je absolvent fotografije na Visoki šoli za storitve (VIST). Za seboj ima skupinske razstave v Slovenskem etnografskem muzeju (2013), Kinu Šiška (2016), arhitekturni galeriji Dessa (2016), Veleposlaništvu Republike Slovenije v Berlinu (2017), Muzeju občine Šenčur (2017) ter Layerjevi hiši Kranj- Galeriji Mahlerca (2017). Samostojno postavi na ogled debitantsko intermedijsko predstavitev ‘BadReligion’ (2014), ki napove trilogijo fotografskih razstav ‘Once Upon a Future’ (2015), ‘Renaissance’ (2016) ter ‘Cloudy’ (2018). Poleg številnih predstavitvenih fotografij za glasbo, gledališče, film in šport, je avtor naslovnice National Geographic Slovenija: Spol (januar 2017) ter naslovnice posebne izdaje revije Narobe, GEJM (januar 2018).
