Cikel pogumnih ustvarjalcev: “Morningthingies” (Stella Aslani)

The Cycle of Brave Artists: “Morningthingies” (Stella Aslani)

“Who am I?” – that ever nagging question quietly whispering from the back of your head, never leaving you alone, popping up when you least need it making you tremble with your whole being. But which being? The fluid, seemingly ungraspable, being? What’s the point, if it is ungraspable? But what if it were not so? What if we could grasp it and, even more, transform it as we like? What if art is the way to do it?”

The ‘Morningthingies – 365 days photo project’ is a personal year-long adventure. It combines means of photography and urge for self-exploration under the strict pressure of daily deadlines. The end result? Come and see.

Stella Aslani is a PhD Philosophy student currently living in Ljubljana. Her love for art started…well…there is no exact point in the history of her being. Art has always been there; although, her two chosen forms of expression are literature and photography, usually accompanied by good music. The things she cannot express with words, she expresses in photography. As she puts it – “I’ve always had a tendency to frame the sequences of the world around me, and photograph is just that.”

However, her interest in art reaches far beyond mere self-expression. The question which started the Morningthingies project, and the very process of the project itself, nudged her into theoretical research of the topic, currently taking place through her studies.

Ziferblat is a place for socialising where you pay for time. Students are 4 cents per minute, non-students are 5 cents. Because we don’t want you to hurry, clocks for this event will stop after 60 mins.
